We are pleased to welcome Kristen Calabaza from the Jicarilla Apache Tribe to New Mexico Highlands University. Kristen will be receiving the Wind River Ranch/Jicarilla Apache Scholarship for this school year as she pursues a degree in Biology and will be competing in Cross Country and Track. Congratulations, Kristen!

We are also hosting second-year NMHU student Daniel Sam. Daniel is a very talented Art Major from the Picuris Pueblo. He is the son of Danny Sam, Wind River’s Bison Manager and has been very involved with the ranch including participating and facilitating summer camps and creating the design of our t-shirt logo.
